Privilege Coffee was a pop-up coffee shop where customers can trade their privilege for coffee. The more privilege you have, the more coffee you get. The concept of privilege is based on the idea of the birth lottery: circumstances which individuals are born into can potentially have a negative or positive effect on their lives. The privileges were represented on color-coded cards that participants picked out.
They were also asked to pick one privilege which has made their life the easiest, for the tip jar.
The coffee shop was held in downtown Greensboro, NC as well as at the 2016 Orlando Art in Odd Places festival.
